I have been working with wood for over 40 years. I started out as a general carpenter and soon specialized in trim carpentry. I have been blessed to be taught by some great carpenters in different fields of the trade through the years. Eventually I started my own business. I built many room additions, did a lot of remodeling, and built a lot of decks. During that time, I began working on crafts for myself at my shop and fell in love with wood carving, making boxes, and building furniture. I discovered that I could sell my pieces in art galleries and at art fairs. In 1999 I shut down my business and devoted all my time to creating art. Thus, A Grain Of Elegance was born.
