Creating A Bowl

  After studying the piece of wood I’m working with, I begin the carving process. Nothing is turned on a lathe. As I carve, the piece begins to reveal the shape it will become. Sometimes this changes as I am carving. The next process is sanding. I sand through seven grits to obtain a glass smooth surface. I then hand rub the finish to bring out the colors and beauty of the grain. I sometimes use Plywood and different species of hardwood to create unique designs.
